Loch Gairloch: The east going stream begins at 6 hours and 20 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The west going stream begins at 20 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 0.2 knots at springs. The streams are weak in the middle of the loch, but may reach up to 0.5 knot near the shore on both sides.
Caolas Beag: Between Longa Island and the Mainland: The tide flows south-east and north-west. The flow reaches a speed of 1 knots at springs.
Rubha Reidh: The north-east going stream begins at 3 hours and 50 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south-west going stream begins at 2 hours and 50 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 3 knots at springs. Overfalls can form here.
Off the entrance of Loch Ewe: The north north-east going stream begins at 2 hours and 30 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south south-west going stream begins at 5 hours after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 1 knots at springs.
Loch Ewe entrance: The south south-east going stream begins at 6 hours and 10 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The north north-west going stream begins at 10 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 1 knots at springs. Away from the entrance, the stream is less.
Channels either side of the Isle of Ewe: The south south-east going stream begins at 6 hours and 5 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The north north-west going stream begins at 5 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 0.5 knots at springs.
Gruinard Bay: Streams within the bay are weak.
Little Loch Broom entrance: The south-east going stream begins at 6 hours and 5 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The north-west going stream begins at 5 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 1 knots at springs. The streams are weak elsewhere in the Loch.
Loch Broom: At the narrows, south east of Ullapool: The south-east going stream begins at 5 hours and 55 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The north-west going stream begins at 5 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 1 knots at springs. Streams are weak elsewhere in the Loch.
Rubha na Coigeach: The east north-east going stream begins at 2 hours and 15 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The west south-west going stream begins at 5 hours and 10 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 2.5 knots at springs.. Some sources have the stream turning around 50 minutes earlier.
Enard Bay: Tidal streams are insignificant in the Bay.
Cluas Deas: The north going stream begins at 2 hours and 15 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south going stream begins at 5 hours and 10 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 2.5 knots at springs.
Point of Stoer: The north-east going stream begins at 2 hours and 15 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south-west going stream begins at 5 hours and 10 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 2.5 knots at springs. There are eddies on both sides of the point, but neither is especially strong. Overfalls can form at the point. Some sources have the stream turning around 50 minutes earlier.
Eddrachillis Bay: Tidal streams are insignificant in the Bay, except at the narrows of Kylesku.
Kylesku Bridge: The north-east going stream begins at 5 hours and 45 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south-west going stream begins at 45 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 2.5 knots at springs. The area of fast flowing water is small, and eddies make it possible to paddle against the flow.
Lochs Glendhu and Glencoul: There is little or no tidal stream in the lochs beyond the narrows at Kylesku.
Between Handa and Eddrachillis Bay: The south going stream begins at 4 hours and 30 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The north going stream begins at 1 hours and 45 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 0.5 knots at springs.
West side of Handa: The north-east going stream begins at 1 hours and 45 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south-west going stream begins at 4 hours and 30 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 2.5 knots at springs.
Sound of Handa: The north-east going stream begins at 4 hours and 5 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south-west going stream begins at 2 hours and 20 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 3 knots at springs. There can be rough water in the middle of the sound in wind over tide conditions.
Loch Laxford: Tidal streams are insignificant in the loch.
Around Dubh Sgeirean: The north-east going stream begins at 1 hours and 20 minutes before high water at Ullapool. The south-west going stream begins at 4 hours and 55 minutes after high water at Ullapool. The flow reaches a speed of 1 knots at springs.
Redpoint: (NG 732 688) g Parking area at end of road. 400m carry to the beach.
Badachro: (NG 782 737) g Pier at the end of the road, beyond the Inn. It is likely better to park 125m west of here in a small parking area. It may be simpler to launch directly from this parking area around high water.
Shieldaig: (NG 804 727) g Steep steps down to the water from a pull off on the road. Likely better to park 300m to the east in a parking area.
Charlestown: (NG 809 751) g Parking by slipway, with further parking the far side of the A road. Bottom of slip dries at low water, which may occasion a carry across seaweed covered shingle.
Gairloch Beach: (NG 806 757) g Public car park by golf club. 150m carry to the beach.
Smithstown: (NG 797 773) g Slipway by small layby. Car park 100m to the west.
Big Sand: (NG 760 779) g Small parking area near the beach. Small fee payable at camp site reception.
Melvaig: (NG 739 862) g Jetty. May be possible to leave a car nearby, or on the verge near where the road down to the jetty meets the main single track road. Failing that, there is a small parking area 1 km north along the main road.
Rubha nan Sasan: (NG 814 921) g Small parking area, near the Arctic Convoy Memorial on the headland. It is a short carry to launch on rocky slabs below the parking area, but this will only be sensible when the sea is calm.
Cove: (NG 810 909) g Slipway, may be possible to leave a car nearby. Alternatively, launch on the beach to the south of the village, where it may be possible to leave a car on the verge.

Poolewe: (NG 860 811) g Layby on the main road, by the foreshore.
Aird Point: (NG 868 890) g Slipway, parking nearby.
Mellon Udrigle: (NG 890 959) g Parking area 100m walk from the beach.
Laide: (NG 902 925) g Jetty. Space to drop boats, but not leave a car. One option is to park in a small layby on the main road, 400 m south of the point where the narrow road down to the jetty joins.
Gruinard Beach: (NG 952 900) g Reasonably sized parking area. The walk to the beach is short, but down a narrow set of wooden steps.
Mungasdale: (NG 960 926) g Jetty through a gate by the side of the road - may be possible to drop boats here. Parking in a layby just to the north - it may be equally easy to launch on the rocky foreshore below the layby?
Badluarach: (NG 996 948) g Jetty, with parking nearby.
Ullapool: (NH 130 940) g Beach along shore street. Parking along the street. A slipway to the east may be easier at high tide. If parking is busy, there is a large free car park off Latheron Lane, 500m west-north west of here.

Badenscallie: (NC 036 061) g Parking by the beach next to the burial ground.
Achiltibuie: (NC 012 097) g Possible to park on the grass by the road, a short carry from the beach.
Old Dornie: (NB 982 112) g Slipway, with limited parking nearby.
Reiff: (NB 965 144) g Access to beach at end of road. It may be possible to leave a car hereabouts, but it is not obvious where.
Achnahaird: (NC 016 140) g Parking area at end of road. Launch off the rocky foreshore nearby, or carry onto the beach.
Inverkirkaig: (NC 078 196) g Road runs alongside the beach, possible to drop boats from a passing place. Parking 700m along the road and river to the east.
Lochinver: (NC 088 222) g Slipway inside the harbour breakwater at the end of the road, built in 2010. Various parking options nearby.
Achmelvich: (NC 058 249) g Car park 250m walk from the beach.
Clachtool: (NC 040 273) g Parking area and public toilets 100m carry from the beach.
Stoer: (NC 038 282) g Carry across a field to the beach. Limited parking by the graveyard.

Kylesku: (NC 230 335) g Parking around the harbour. A small beach in the back corner of the harbour bay may be easiest access point. Alternatively, use the slipway at the end of the road.
Scourie: (NC 151 446) g Small parking area by the beach on the south side of Scourie Bay. Launching and parking also possible at the picnic area at the east end of the bay.
Tarbet: (NC 163 488) g Ferry slip by a beach. Lots of parking, as this is the departure point for the Handa Ferry.
Fanagmore: (NC 178 498) g Slipway at end of road. No parking at road end, but may be possible to leave one car nearby.
Laxford Bay: (NC 227 477) g Beach by old pier. Parking possible by the old pier on in a layby on the road.
